We're delighted to be joined by expertas from the worls of poetry and acedemia to take the audience's questions on 'The Waste Land'.

Meet them here:

The guests on the first night will be Dr Julian Stannard, reader in creative writing at Winchester University, with specialisms in Twentieth-century poetry and twenty-first century poetry and Anglo-American-European modernism, including fiction. He will be joined by Hampshire poet, Joan McGavin who has a Ph.D. in English (Creative Writing) from Southampton University (2020). She has two poetry collections from Oversteps Books: Flannelgraphs (2011) and Passing Arcadia Close (2017). She was a Hawthornden Fellow in 2012 and in 2014 was Hampshire Poet, a role promoting poetry countywide.

The performance on Thursday 12th will see the director and actor joined by Professor Will May from Southampton University who is a member of the Southampton Institute for Arts and Humanities (SIAH) and Centre for Modern and Contemporary Writing (CMCW) and is currently researching mentoring practice in postwar and contemporary British poetry, and Revd. Dr. John Caperon, the editor of Exchanges, the T.S. Eliot Society’s newsletter. Poet Harley Truslove will also take part.

Friday 13th October is the last performance and the Q&A will welcome Matthew West from ArtfulScribe as a speaker. Matthew is a poet, writer, educator and facilitator based in Southampton. Matt graduated from University of Southampton’s Creative Writing MA programme where he studied Modern poetics and produced two poetry chapbooks, Button Holes and Object to This.
